Meet our Business Mum of the Month, Jules Daniels, the visionary behind Northern Power Garms. Jules journey began with a simple idea and a whole lot of Northern spirit.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jule Daniels found herself at a crossroads. Like many, she had lost her job, grappling with uncertainty. Instead of letting adversity get the best of her, Jule's decided to channel her energy into something creative and uniquely Northern. This is when Northern Power Garms was born!!

Northern Power Garms isn't your run-of-the-mill apparel store. It's a celebration of Northern culture, slang, and identity.
Jule's store is a treasure trove of hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, baby grows, bags, and hats, each adorned with iconic Northern phrases like 'ey up,' 'absolutely buzzin',' and 'it's not grim up north.' These garments aren't just clothing; they're a way to wear your Northern pride on your sleeve – quite literally!
What started as a humble online store quickly gained traction. Northern Power Garms began to build a devoted following of over 7,000 supporters in just three short years. Jules unique vision struck a chord with people who shared her love for the North and its vibrant culture.
As Northern Power Garms continued to gain popularity, Jules had her sights set on something bigger. In a bold move, she decided to open a physical store in Halifax, a place close to her heart.

We asked Jule's what inspired her to start this journey & what she was most proud of...
"What am I most proud of… when covid hit, and my bridal make-up business disappeared, I had to find a way to bring in an income. With a toddler and being pregnant with our second, losing that second wage was non negotiable! Over night I worked hard on my brand, and quickly built up a community of followers, and thankfully it took off."
"My love of the north, and the people here are what inspired me. There’s Nowt like a proud northerner is there! I moved to Manchester 16 years ago, and to Yorkshire in 2021, and the north is and will always be home. Seeing my children growing up here, and giving them the quality of life I didn’t have is paramount and this inspires me to keep going every single day!"
